Cheer Explorers is our introductory to cheerleading the sport. Cheer is a performance activity, so as an explorer the children learn cheer, tumbling, stunt and dance with performance in mind.

Unlike other recreation programs, we use certified staff to teach techniques, and also unlike other recreation programs, it includes tumbling. Also unlike other recreation programs we practice inside on a spring floor! No bugs, no rain, no cold!

The season runs 4 months from the end of August to Christmas break in December. This is our fall session. After Christmas is over, you can continue in the Winter session if you would like.
In the Spring we have allstar tryouts. The explorers program helps prepare the cheer athlete for a successful future in the sport of cheerleading, for school or allstar cheerleading team participation.

Members of the Explorers program need team cheer shoes, bloomers, and our cute explorers performance uniform. We also have practice gear available for any cheerleader who needs it. (shorts, and t's)

Cost to be an explorer:
$35 yearly registration fee (Due from every explorer)

Tuition Options: $60 X 4 = $240 (total tuition for the fall session for one day a week, 1 1/2 hour practice)
or $85 X 4 = $340 (total for the fall session for extra one hour tumbling class and cheer practice 2 days a week total) A great value for 4 hours of tumbling a month for only the extra $25 per month, $100 total for extra tumbling in the fall session.

An explorer can choose to be a one day a week explorer or a two day a week explorer.

09' Explorers also pay a competition performance fee of $50 total for the 3 fall performances. Competition fees are the fees that teams get charged to compete by the cheer companies putting on the event. So it is there Event competition fee that we pay out to the companies.
The 3 performances will be local.

Explorers pay for there shoes, uniform, Hair Bow and bloomers, cost to be determined. May involve renting a skirt from ICA and buying a top and bloomers. or may be buying a complete uniform. We promise the outfits will be cute and as reasonable as possible and will be able to be used for fall and winter sessions.

To Register for Explorers: Registration is held from July 14th to Aug 30th. Late registration is through Sept. 9th. Register online by clicking classes and paying the yearly registration, and filling out your child's Name, age and phone number.

You may register in person by visiting the gym at 4046 C Fernandina Rd. Between Harbison and Piney Grove Rd. where the ICA Viking Allstar Cheerleaders practice. This is also where the Explorers will practice. Bring you $35 registration fee and 1st months tuition payment on your 1st visit to the gym.

You may also simply register by phone 732-2494, you may make a credit card payment for the beginning fees if you would like, or leave your child's name, age and phone number for phone registration anytime on the voice mail. We would be back in touch for arrangements.
